It nearly broke our hearts to see the runaways and orphan children living on the streets of Nakuru,” Anne shared with us.

Anne is a local Kenyan with a heart for her own people. She volunteers her time reaching children that live on the streets.

The street children beg, steal, and sniff glue,” Anne tells us. “They are also exploited and abused.

We bring them lunch, teach them the Word of God, and eventually coax them off the streets to live at our ministry center. There we feed, bathe, clothe, and educate them.

Nicolas grew up on the streets sleeping on sidewalks and on rooftops. He sold newspapers and earned 20 Shillings per day (about 30¢). To supplement his meager income he stole food and robbed tourists. Now Nicolas has a new hope. Recently he shared one of his greatest joy is, “Sleeping in my very own bed.

When we asked Simon where he used to sleep before he came to the ministry center he told us, “I slept on the roof of the public outhouse.

Henry, Nicolas, and Simon are currently participating in the Kids for the Kingdom job-training program. Henry proudly announces, “I am learning carpentry and welding. And I am learning that God loves me. I never thought there was any hope in this world. Now I look forward to a good life.”

Throughout the Nakuru Region and in the City of Nairobi Kids for the Kingdom is reaching children. Partnering with The Lifewater Kenya our feeding programs, Bible Clubs, job-training centers, health clinics, and clean water systems restore health to communities, renew hearts and lives, and bring the Christian Gospel to children and families in rural villages and inner-city slums.

For villages such as Njoro, Kimkasa, Mware, Majangwa, Matumaini, Parkview, Ngorika, Wiumirire, and Chandera Kids for the Kingdom has provided new water systems. National workers under the direction of David Maina, The Lifewater Kenya are drilling wells and installing hand-pumping systems at the center of each village. Now the villages have a safe supply of drinking-water extracted from deep underground. The village people are visibly healthier.

This year Kids for the Kingdom projects in Kenya are touching the hearts and lives of 9,712 children and families.
