Kids for the Kingdom is
focused on the needs of children and family every
where in the world. We reach the needy and downcast
in third world nations, war-torn regions, and disaster
sites. Sometimes the opportunity arises to assist
and serve people in our own backyard.
In 2005 Kids for the Kingdom provided
support for 1,231 children through Christian camp
and Christian school support. We partnered with
Pleasant Hill Christian School, City of Wilkes-Barre,
PA and Mt. Gilead Bible Camp.
In September 2005 and throughout 2006 we responded
to the needs of Hurricane Katrina victims. By partnering
our with relief efforts with the Slidell Calvary Church
in Slidell, Louisiana Kids for the Kingdom
was able to directly aid 25 families in their recovery.
(Note: In 2007 the Slidell Calvary Church sent a $2,100
gift to Kids for the Kingdom
for projects in Kenya.)
In
2006 Kids for the Kingdom donors
provided $1,013,000 for projects and programs in the
United States including on-going direct assistance
cash grants to families in Louisiana affected by Hurricane
Katrina, provided cash grants to assist students attending
Christian school and Christian camp, and facilitated
a donor-designated cash grant of one-million dollars
for the purchase of three new fire trucks and public
safety equipment for the City of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
(population 43,123).
