Earthquake in Nicaragua

“The whole capitol city is on Red Alert,” reported Kids for the Kingdom national director Mario Avilés by phone from earthquake-rattled Managua, Nicaragua. “Since Thursday of last week there have been four major earthquakes with a 6.1 or greater magnitude,” he said Monday afternoon. “The earth has been shaking all day.”

One of the earthquakes hit just a few miles from our Kids for the Kingdom feeding center in Los Brasiles and did considerable damage to the kitchen, church, our program coordinator’s house. Several other houses constructed by Kids for the Kingdom teams in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch were also severely damaged. Please pray for our teams in Nicaragua as they continue to feel the aftershocks. Pray for Carlos and Margarita, our feeding program coordinators who lost their home. “Pray for us as we minister to about 150 abruptly homeless people in the village of Los Braziles,” says Mario Avilés.
