At Kids for the Kingdom’s Heart of Mercy School in Zimbabwe, many of the students come from dozens of kilometers away and must walk or ride long distances. Starting at 6 years old, Tinashe had to ride the family donkey in order to make the 60 km (37 mi) round trip journey to school each day. But the donkey could not survive the severe drought and food shortage going on in Zimbabwe. Each day, he wakes before the sun rises and starts the long journey to school on foot. Even thought his circumstances are difficult, he wants to say ‘Thank you’ to Kids for the Kingdom donors and our team in Zimbabwe for helping provide a place for him to learn.
