This week, Guatemala’s President Jimmy Morales and first Lady Hilda Morales (left in photo) met with Kids for the Kingdom national director Alvaro Perdomo (right). ”The president has publically declared his evangelical faith and is offering to help in any way he can be a blessing to Guatemala,” says Perdomo. “President Morales comes from a poor family in Guatemala City. When he learned of our work with the poor, he asked how we could replicate the Kids for the Kingdom model throughout the nation.” After meeting twice, President Morales and Alvaro Perdomo will be initiating programs to reach children in Guatemala’s hospitals, orphanages, and schools. “This is an unmatched open door for evangelism,” reports Perdomo. This opportunity furthers the Kids for the Kingdom mission statement: ‘To empower and equip indigenous teams around the world to transform the living conditions and spiritual lives of their people group, and their nation for Christ.’
