It is my mission to help re-build my country economically, socially, and spiritually. - Mario Jose Aviles Saenez
Our team in Nicaragua runs the orphan home ‘Hogar el Reposo’ (Spanish for ‘‘A Place of Rest’) providing them with a home, food, and work experience.
Our team in Nicaragua pioneered our “Two Sticks of Firewood” program, where children contribute by bringing two sticks of firewood to “earn” their meal.
Meet Mario Jose Aviles Saenez and his wife Sandy, our National Directors in Nicaragua. Mario Jose is the son of Kids for the Kingdom Nicaragua’s founder and has been working in the ministry in Nicaragua for over 20 years. He has helped establish feeding programs, schools and many other projects and has been instrumental in the success of those programs. Mario José has a strong vision and passion for the future of the ministry. Kids for the Kingdom Nicaragua reaches thousands of children with feeding programs, mercy projects, Christian schools, Christmas Shoeboxes, outreach to hospitals, job training projects, disaster relief, and micro-enterprise loan programs.
Rodiver and Victoria are our Program Directors in Nueva Guinea, Nicaragua. Located about 8 hours from the capital city of Managua, lies the tiny village of Nueva Guinea. During the civil war, the government resettled people here and left them with nothing more than some simple hand tools. After the war, as more and more children were being abandoned due to the tough economic times, Rodiver and Victoria Barrera saw the need for an orphanage in this far away corner of the country and decided to provide a ‘place of rest’ for these abandoned children. Today they minister in their local community with Bible clubs, feeding programs, youth activities and through the orphanage they continue to run.
