Kids for the Kingdom India Branch Office –
Indian nationals Sam and Prema Sunder have a heart for the poorest of the poor in their country. An estimated 20 million Indians live in abject poverty without the means to break the cycle. Sam and Prema Sunder run the India Branch Office of Kids for the Kingdom in Chennai, India. Kids for the Kingdom India helps the poorest of the poor by running feeding programs, bible clubs, vocational training and daycare centers. In 2012 Kids for the Kingdom India helped 3,609 children through these programs.
“Deep in our hearts we had a great burden to reach children,” says Sam Sunder. “We began to minister to kids living on the streets.” Today the Kids for the Kingdom ministry reaches throughout Southern India. Almost three thousand five hundred children attend weekly Bible Clubs in Chennai, Erode, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Bhopal, Cuddalore, and dozens of villages and city slums. Each week when Bible Clubs convene the children learn praise songs, memorize Scripture, and listen to Bible stories. The feeding program followings the Bible time. At evening’s end the children are nourished by the Word of God and filled with a generous plate of hot, nutritious food.
